Snickerdoodle Protein Dip

Snickerdoodle Protein Dip
I have officially taken out my hammer and nail because it is back to the build phase, yet again. It always astonishes me how quickly we lose fitness. Didn’t I just run 26.2 miles a few short weeks ago? I now become asthmatic walking up a flight of stairs. In my hiatus from running, I have started to reacquaint myself with the pool. It’s funny how we so abruptly lose our lungs but never seem to exhaust that familiar muscle memory. The first glaze of water over my skin took me right back into the hand over hand motion I had abandoned for the last 6 months. Shaping my noodle arms into swim worthy brawn is a priority in this season of training. As much as I was reminded of my fatigue by my burning biceps during the warm-up I was even more aware post-workout. Something about swimming just makes me more in tune to what fuel my body is craving. This time it was distinctively yelling, “PROTEIN.” This dip, paired with apples or graham crackers, makes a beautiful balance of carbohydrates and protein for optimal recovery. In total transparency, I’d use “recovering from walking up the stairs” as a excuse to munch on this cinnamon snack!
