Sport Waffles
Yield: 16 waffles Ingredients- ½ cup whole wheat flour
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ c packed brown sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup butter, melted or coconut oil
- 1 Tbsp honey
- ½ tsp almond extract
- Lightly grease a waffle baker and preheat according to manufacturer's directions.
- In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- In a seperate, small mixing bowl whisk together eggs, melted butter/coconut oil, honey, and almond extract. Add egg mixture all at once to dry mixture. Stir just until just combined.
- Drop batter by teaspoons in the center of each section of the prepared waffle grids. Close the lid. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until cookies are golden brown. When done, use a fork to lift cookies off the waffle baker.
- Transfer cookies to a wire rack; cool. Repeat with remaining batter.
